In European pharmaceutical sites that make 'The Pill' through to the COVID vaccine, the Team helped to create Lean specialists and to introduce Lean culture and systems.

Supply chain mapping tools, such as Value Stream Mapping, revealed bottlenecks and cost savings throughout the supply chain. Finally in-house experts were created to carry the improvement momentum forward.

Mech-Tool Engineering

Mech-Tool make safe working structures for the oil and gas industry and are an example of a company thriving in challenging economic conditions.

The Team worked with them in business strategy workshops to increase sales and also cost down initiatives to improve the bottom line. In around 14 months its turnover grew from £9M to over £17M.

Chaucer Foods

Chaucer make freeze-dried foods across Europe, the US and China.

The Team worked with them in all sites to introduce Lean improvement practices including end to end Value Stream Mapping and standardised work systems to capture and share best practices.

Contitech Beattie

Contitech Beattie manufacture flexible hoses, couplings and other fluid transfer systems for the oil and gas industries.

Alongside new managing director, the Team worked with the 3 business units teams to increase sales focus and customer service.  The company saw a 50% Growth in Turnover and a 100% Growth in Profitability over 3 years.

DS Smith

DS Smith is a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, paper products and recycling services worldwide.

The Team trained their supply chain planning team and then worked with them to create a custom supply chain planning tool, using Microsoft Power BI. 

This specialist knowledge was then handed over to in-house experts who can now maintain and develop the system further.

McCormick Foods

McCormick is the global leader in producing seasoning and sauces for the food industry.

Relay worked with their team at the manufacturing plant in Littleborough to build a Value Stream Map. This involved mapping  machine capacities, process bottlenecks, process lead times and the value of inventory to identify the best improvement opportunities. The resulting manufacturing improvement initiative saw a doubling of line output in 18 months.
